The first time Chief Brody took a look at Bruce, he uttered six famous words: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” Macklin Celebrini wasn’t born when Jaws debuted in 1975, but collectors of the 20-year-old San Jose Sharks center are already scrambling to find more space for their growing collections of #71.
The 2026-27 NHL season is off and running, and while Celebrini has yet to light the lamp, he’s got five assists in his first three games, helping the Sharks to a 2-1 start. If he plays anything like he did last year, when he posted a 45-goal, 70-assist, 115-point rookie season, finishing fourth in Hart Trophy voting, San Jose will likely be competing for a playoff spot, which should give Celebrini—and his hockey cards—plenty of opportunities to shine.
Across Courtyard, hockey fans are ripping digital packs and pulling hockey grails that can be redeemed for their physical counterparts. Celebrini collectors in particular have plenty to chase, including a jaw-dropping number of rookie cards, such as the 2024 Upper Deck Young Guns #451 Outburst (PSA 10), which carries a fair market value of $5,651 and can be found in Courtyard’s hockey packs.
Whether or not the sophomore skater will be able to top his record-setting rookie season, one thing is clear: demand for Celebrini cards on Courtyard is real. On Courtyard’s peer-to-peer marketplace, which has zero (yes, 0%) seller or buyer fees, Macklin Celebrini is the most-searched hockey player. In a league with Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Auston Matthews, and on a marketplace that has more than a handful of high-end Wayne Gretzky cards, that’s no easy feat.

Courtyard Marketplace Trends: Top-Searched Hockey Players
As any good sports card collector will tell you, it takes lots of window shopping before making a big purchase. While some lucky collectors have a favorite team with a bonafide superstar to chase, others don’t even live in a market with a team, let alone follow one that’s playing well, led by a generational talent.
Regardless of whether you live in the Bay Area, count yourself among the San Jose Sharks faithful, or simply appreciate Macklin Celebrini’s game, one thing is clear: you’re not alone.
Courtyard’s Marketplace features more than 4,300 hockey cards, ranging from current stars to legends from generations past. Needless to say, hockey card collectors have plenty of options—and yet the most-searched hockey player on all of Courtyard is, you guessed it, Macklin Celebrini. He might not be The Great One (yet), but on our platform, he tops Gretzky in searches.
Here are the top-five most-searched hockey players on Courtyard:
The league's all-time leader in goals scored, Alex Ovechkin, sits at sixth most-searched, while goal-scoring phenoms like Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon don’t even crack the top-10.
Time to Get in the Water: Why Macklin Celebrini Rookie Cards Are Dominating the Hobby
Macklin Celebrini led the 2026 Winter Olympics in goals at just 19 years old. He followed that up by finishing fourth in the NHL in scoring—in his rookie season. The kid knows how to find the net, and the Sharks rewarded him for it, signing him to a five-year, $94 million extension and a captain’s C on his chest. Hockey card collectors have similarly anointed Chester as the next big thing.
Whether you’re looking to scoop up a Celebrini rookie or simply ogling cards from a player that looks poised to be among the best to one of the faces of the league for a long, long time, check out Courtyard’s selection of Hockey Card Packs, and head on over to the Courtyard Marketplace to see if you can find a deal on some of the best hockey cards to collect right now—like the Connor McDavid rookie card that sold on our marketplace for more than $3,700—no seller or buyer fees included.
