A little more than 1,000 NFL players took the field between last Wednesday’s 2026 season opener and Monday night’s AFC West showdown. As fans across the globe quickly learned, Al Pacino was right: football is a game of inches.
As inches turned into feet, feet turned into yards, and yards turned into touchdowns, collectors turned on-field performances into cash, buying, selling, and trading football cards on Courtyard.
As fantasy football fans prepare to hit the waiver wire, let’s take a look at Week 1’s standout performers.
Quarterbacks:
Josh Allen: The Bills’ star QB notched two rushing touchdowns in Buffalo’s 36-31 road win over the vaunted Houston Texans defense. With 81 for his career, Allen set the NFL record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, and is now tied for 20th all-time among all players. That’s why it’s no surprise that a collector paid more than $13,000 for Allen’s 2018 Contenders Variation Auto Ticket Stub (PSA 10) this summer. Caleb Williams: Ben Johnson wants his offense to set records, and the Bears’ young QB did just that, becoming the first Chicago quarterback to record 200 yards passing, two touchdowns thrown, 50-plus rushing yards, and two scores on the ground in a single game. The Bears hung a jaw-dropping 59 points on the Panthers (ouch, Carolina…), validating the collector that dropped more than $7,000 on Williams’ 2024 Absolute Kaboom! Vertical rookie over the summer.
Bryce Young: You’re either in or out on the former Alabama standout, but if W1 is any indication, Young’s believers are going to be rewarded this season. The Carolina signal-caller put up 37 points against the Bears, but couldn’t overcome the faults of his defense. Even still, the fan that spent more than $4,000 on his 2024 Phoenix Black Hyper 1/1 this summer has to be pretty happy. The same will undobutedly go for whoever pulls the Gold 2023 Abasolute Kaboom! (FMV: $9,046) Hidden in Football Diamond Packs.
Trevor Lawrence: Another quarterback that has his fair share of doubters, Trevor Lawrence waived at his haters in route to a four touchdown performance on Sunday. (Deshaun Watson, not so much.) There’s a Gold 2021 Prizm waiting to be found in Football Diamond Packs, and man, is it a beauty.
Patrick Mahomes: Arguably the face of the league, Mahomes was back in action on Monday Night Football after last year’s injury. While not everyone is happy with the way Chiefs Kingdom has dominated the league of late, the collector that pulled this 1/1 2024 Donruss Optic (PSA 10) sure must be. With a market value of more than $27,000, it was quite the pull out of the new Sports Cosmic packs.
Running Backs:
Derrick Henry: King Henry is going to get a gold jacket once it’s all said and done, but last year’s performance wasn’t up to his usual standards. If Week 1 is any indication, the superstar runningback—who is now third all-time in career rushing touchdowns—isn’t going anywhere. With a 2016 Rookies & Stars Longevity Sig Gold (FMV: $3,308) available in Football Ultra Packs ($250), you’ve got a shot to ride with Henry, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens all year long.
Kenneth Walker III: We’ve been banging the drum about Walker’s move to Kansas City all offseason, but even we didn’t think he’d go off the way he did in his first game for the Chiefs. 173 rushing yards, two touchdowns—including that 60-yard house call on 4th down—and 14 missed tackles helped KC rout the Denver Broncos. Wide Receivers:
Justin Jefferson: Who says you need a star quarterback to put up big numbers? JJettas had eight receptions on nine targets, good for 92 yards and two touchdowns, all while catching passes from Carson Wentz. Zay Flowers: After getting paid this summer, the Ravens’ wide receiver needed to put monster stats to silence those that think he’s overrated. Well, you can give the former Boston College standout his flowers now, thanks to a five-catch, 150-yard performance that also featured a touchdown—before his day was cut short due to a hamstring injury. There’s some real concern there, but there’s also plenty of upside for anyone looking to nab his rookie cards, with dozens available on our marketplace, including a 2023 PSA Silver Prizm for $44.
