How Are the Collectibles on Courtyard.io Authenticated?
There are plenty of card grading companies—and we’re not one of them. Instead, we allow third parties like PSA, CGC, and BGS to independently grade the cards that appears in our packs, gets vaulted, or shows up on our marketplace. This isn’t Courtyard.io's opinion of the collectible, it’s an independent authenticator's, cross-checked and on-record before we even touch it—and that extends to items like sneakers, watches, and coins, all of which are either professionally authenticated or graded (or both). What does “Ownership” Actually Mean on Courtyard.io?
When you pull a collectible from a Courtyard.io pack or buy one off of our marketplace, you’re not getting a vague promise, you’re getting a digital record of ownership that shows exactly who has owned the card before you, how they got it, and if they purchased it off of the marketplace, the price they paid for it.
While the physical cards bought, sold, and ripped on Courtyard.io can stay put within our vault, this data allows for seamless, and near-instant transactions. When it comes to collecting, nobody wants to wait—ourselves included.
How Are the Collectibles on Courtyard.io Vaulted?
When most people talk about art, they think Picasso or Renoir. We’re a little different.
We house all our collectibles inside a vault that receives fine-art-grade security, including 24/7 monitoring. That 2018 Topps Chrome Shohei Ohtani rookie currently hidden in our Baseball Diamond Pack? The 2000 Bowman Chrome Tom Brady currently available in our Football Mythic Pack? They’re not going anywhere unless the person that owns the card wants him too.
In fact, in 2025 Courtayard transitioned all of its collectibles to a new vault built specifically to handle collectibles, giving us more room to store one-of-a-kind cards, sneakers, and more, and allowing for faster redemptions for those collectors that want to receive the items they’ve bought or ripped on Courtyard.io.
What does Courtyard.io insure?
Every card available on Courtyard.io is insured free of charge from the moment it enters our vault. There’s no opt-in, no add-on fee, and no fine print. As long as the card is on our site, it’s covered, giving you the peace of mind that the physical version of your digital cards are safe and sound.
What Fees Do Buyers and Sellers Pay on Courtyard.io?
Zero! Yes, you read that right: Courtyard.io’s marketplace charges 0% fees on peer-to-peer buying and selling on the Courtyard.io marketplace. Unlike other marketplaces, such as eBay, where the sale price gets picked apart by fees before it reaches your wallet, Courtyard.io doesn’t take a cut of the sale, or force buyers to pay more than the list price after including fees at the last second.

Can You Redeem Your Digital Collectibles from Courtyard.io for Physical Ones?
This is the cool part: If you open a Courtyard.io pack or purchase a card on Courtyard.io’s marketplace, you’ll not only receive a new digital card you’ll see on your screen, but you can then choose to redeem the physical version, too. Here’s how to do so in six easy steps:
- On desktop, click on the "Profile" button on the left-hand side of the screen. For those using the Courtyard.io app, click on the "Collection" button on the bottom right of the menu bar located at the bottom of the app.
- Then, click on the item in your collection that you’d like shipped to you.
- At the top right of your screen, click on the button with the three dots and select “Ship to Me”.
- You’ll then reselect the item—or items—you’d like to have shipped to you to confirm what you want headed your way.
- Then, fill out your shipping information, with shipping charges and tax applying depending on your zip code.
- After that, you’ll need to select whether or not you want to include packing coverage before paying the shipping fees and any applicable tax and accepting our terms of service.
That’s it! Now your collectible(s) is officially on its way to you, with tracking information provided shortly after.
